Rev. William "Freddie" Hill, Jr. was born on March 31, 1943 in Cochran, Georgia to the late William Hill Sr. and Lelia Johnson Hill.

William met the love of his life Susie Gathers. They later united in holy matrimony and from this union four children were born.

Rev. William Hill was the owner and operator of Hill's Grocery in Paterson, New Jersey. He later acquired Richard Hide-away and Toast of Paterson. He worked as a Housing Inspector for the City of Paterson where he was promoted to Chief Inspector and a Mediator for the Paterson Municipal Courts. He received the Key to the City for over 25 years of dedicated service.

William was a former member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist where he served as Deacon and was later licensed in the Ministry by Rev. Willie Louis McDowell of Passaic, NJ. William received his certification from Dr. Howard E. Anderson Divinity School. He was later ordained as a Minister by Rev. Samuel Jackson of Exodus Baptist Church in Paterson, New Jersey where he was a current member. After his ordination, he became the Chaplain of Valley Hospital for two years. William kept himself busy with many outreach ministries throughout the community. He also taught at the Medallion Behavioral Care Hospital. William was the first male missionary of the North Jersey Baptist Association. He was also a member of the Quartet Reunion Association.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Anthony and Robert Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife of 47 years, Susie; his three sons, Don Luen (Troylinda), Matthew Curtis, Charles Anthony, (Chantanette) Hill, and one daughter, Patricia (Marc) Harris and his road (dog) April Hill; grandchildren, Rute Hill, Tia Hill, Darnell Harris, Chaniya and Chase Hill; great grandsons, Qenra and Enensa. Brothers, Larry (Margaret) Griffin, Eddie (Rachel) Hill of Paterson, NJ, Walter (Susie) Hill, of Bishopville, SC, Willie (Linda) Griffin of West Milford, and Khalief Hill of Selingsgrove, PA; a sister, Ruth A. Wilson of Paterson A brother- in-law Eddie (Earstalee) Gathers of Passaic, NJ; sisters-in-law Sarah (Robert) Porchia of Monks Corner, SC, Evelyn (John) Hurger of Cross, SC, Ernestine Gathers of Utahville, SC and Shirley Hill., NJ; devoted family friend Donna Nassor; a special Aunt Linda Kearney, who was just like a mother to him, and a host of loving aunts and uncles; adopted sisters Mary Lynn Burns, Mildred Hill, Corinthian Butts, Sarah James, and Tina Slappy. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
