Laura Frances Cunningham Spruill (aka Miss. Kitty), was born on May 15, 1947 in Lancaster, SC to the late Beauregard and Mary Cunningham.
Laura accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church in Lancaster.
She was educated in the school system of Lancaster County and graduated from Barr Street High School.
After graduation she moved to Englewood, NJ where she worked at the Englewood Post Office.
After leaving the post office she was a day care
provider until her health failed.
Laura was united in holy matrimony to William M. Spruill on November 24, 1973. From that union two children were born.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Spruill,
brother, Fred Cunningham and two sisters, Beaureann Lindo and Hattie Benson.
She humbly bowed to God's will, and peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2012 at the St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.
She will be lovingly remembered by: her daughter, Nikisha Maye; son, Damien Spruill; granddaughter, Nevaeh Maye (the love of her life); one brother, James R. Brown of Roanoke, VA; two sisters, Leona Blackmon (Bellarle) of Columbia, SC and Wyemia Grimes of Capital Heights, MD; one brother-inlaw, Joseph Lindo of Englewood, NJ. She also leaves a host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives and admiring friends.
